Onírico editorial magazine: a Dulces típicos spread with red text and photos of lit street food stalls, by CBAS
(Brief)

The problem.

What was missing was an editorial piece that truly reflected Guatemalan life, from the naming to the last detail of the design.

Cover of Onírico magazine No. 01, Holy Week 2024 issue, with gold embroidery and tassels on a green background
Onírico spread on Holy Week: the title Una tradición centenaria in purple over a dark photo, beside blocks of text
Close-up of an Onírico page on traditional sweets, with a red text block and photos of street food stalls
Blue Onírico spread on street workers in Guatemala, with a photo of a shoeshiner and a 30% statistic
Onírico magazine open in perspective: a purple Semana Santa spread with a photo of an ornate gilded baroque structure
Yellow Onírico spread: profile portrait of a man in a crowd titled Personas, beside the text El guatemalteco
(Approach)

The solution.

I chose Onírico for its allusion to dreams, linked to photography, based on the idea that seeing life through a photo is like living a dream. I took the photos, laid out the magazine from scratch and built the whole brand. It became a magazine that connects with Guatemala and its traditions; the first issue came out for Semana Santa 2024.
