Frequently asked
Questions
How much does a brand cost?
It depends on the scope. A logo on its own and a brand system with packaging and campaigns are very different projects. We start with a free call to understand what you need, and then I send a fixed proposal with price and dates.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. I’m based in Guatemala City and work remotely with brands across the country and abroad. I have done projects for Guatemala, Spain, the US and Colombia, in English or Spanish. Calls are on video and progress goes by email or WhatsApp.
How long does a branding project take?
It depends on the scope and on how fast approvals move. The proposal includes a calendar with a delivery date for each stage, so you know from day one when you will see each step.
What does a brand identity include?
The core is strategy, logo and visual system: colors, typography and graphic assets, all documented in brand guidelines. From there you can add packaging, stationery, social, campaigns or web.
Do you only design logos?
I design logos, always with their system around them: versions, colors, typography and usage rules. Without that, a logo falls apart the second time someone else designs a piece.
What kind of businesses do you work with?
Brands that value design and want to look different, of any size: restaurants, retail, automotive, construction, tech, NGOs and events.
What do I need to get started?
Write to me and tell me what you sell, who you sell to and what you want to achieve. If it is not clear yet, we figure it out together on the first call.
Do you design websites?
Yes. I design and build websites in Framer and in code, with your identity applied and built so people contact you or buy. You can see examples in the portfolio.
What sets you apart from other designers?
You talk to me from start to finish, with no account managers in between, and every design decision has a business reason behind it. I like brands that dare to look different, and those are the ones I work for.
Who is behind CBAS?
CBAS is the studio of Sebastián “Cbas” Martínez, a graphic and brand designer in Guatemala City. It is an independent practice, unrelated to CBA Design (WPP) or Base Design.
Is CBAS an agency?
CBAS is an independent studio. When a project needs motion, photography or development, I bring in trusted partners and keep the creative direction. You get one person responsible and fast decisions.
Do I get the editable files?
Yes. At the end you receive the final and editable files, the brand guidelines as a PDF and the templates we designed.
